Uninstalling Prey

We recommend enabling the permission that prevents the app from being uninstalled without authorization. This added layer of security ensures that Prey cannot be removed easily. To uninstall, simply deactivate this permission from the login screen.

Important Information:

• Disable the “Delete permissions if not used” option to ensure continuous protection.
• Accessibility services are needed for the “Lock” feature to display an “Access Denied” overlay when the device is locked.
• The Power Button Lock feature is available only on Android versions below 9 due to restrictions in newer versions.
• On Android 12 or later, grant access to “Management of All Files” for advanced “File Retrieval” (Pro) capabilities, extending beyond images and videos.
• Device Administrator permissions are required for Remote Wipe and Lock features (Pro).
